Howard Stelly, Sr.

Howard James Stelly, Sr., was born on June 30, 1940, and passed away August 4, 2022, at the age of 82. He was a former equipment operator for Local 406. A native of St. Landry Parish and currently resided in Geismar, Louisiana.

He enjoyed woodworking and his daily phone calls with family and friends.

Pops is survived by his 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Howard Jr. and Scarlet, Gerard and Tonya, and John Brent; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, significant other, as well as 8 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister-in-law, Dorothy Stelly; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Marie Guillory Stelly; parents, Elie and Alice Stelly; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Reme and Ida Guillory; 4 brothers; 1 sister; 3 sisters-in-law; and 1 brother-in-law.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 8, 2022, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. A rosary will be recited at 11:30 with the funeral service immediately following at Ascension Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Corner View Cemetery.
