Helen Templet

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Gonzales. She was 66, born Aug. 8, 1942, and was a native and long time resident of Gonzales. Visitation at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Monday, Jan. 12, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at 9 a.m. Deacon James Morrissey will celebrate a service of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Cornerview Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Lucien Templet Sr., of Gonzales; sons, Ty Duplessis, Shannon Templet and Travis Templet; stepson, Lucien Templet Jr.; daughter, Tawanali Duplessis Gray; stepdaughters, Beverly Templet, Irene Templet, and Elizabeth Donaldson; brothers, Landis Poirrier and Lionel Poirrier; sister, Lucille Ducote; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
