Harold Paul Duplessis, age 76, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at 3:35 a.m. at his home. A native of St. Amant, LA and resident of Gonzales, LA. He retired as the owner of Duplessis Carpet and Flooring. He loved to fish, play cards, dance and watch western movies. He also loved horses, going on trail rides, and participated in rodeos. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Friday, February 10, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until service at 12:00 noon conducted by Deacon Randall Clement. Burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Glenda Ayo Duplessis; daughter and son-in-law, Betsy and Glynn Parent Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Lester and Sandy Duplessis; brother and sisters-in-law, Lionel and Earline Duplessis, Ruth Babin Duplessis, and Laura Brown Duplessis; two grandchildren, Cheyenne Parent and Colt Parent and wife, Lauren; step granddaughter, Mindi Hugman and husband, Brian; two step grandchildren, Margaret and Caroline Hugman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Lester Joseph and Louvenia Moore Duplessis; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Woodward and husband, Allen, and Gladys Millet and husband, Joseph; and brothers, John Duplessis and Joseph Duplessis.
