alignleftGloria joined her heavenly family on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008. She was 83. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery, La. 30, Gonzales. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Edna Poche and Reggie and Joe Ann Poche; three stepchildren, Debra Kelly and Larry and Jay Traigle; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Verlin Bourgeois and Zita Fisher. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Banta; brother, Charles Banta; and sister, Rose Mary Banta. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and a former lector at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church.
