Geraldine Bratcher

Geraldine R. Bratcher Gerry, 77, of Panama City Beach, Florida passed on Sunday, August 12, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Gerry was born on February 17, 1935 in Stafford, Kansas and lived in Bay County since 1992. She was the Treasurer and member of the Board of Directors of the Venture Out Homeowners Association. Gerry was a member of Woodlawn Methodist Church. She loved to read and especially loved traveling in their RV. Prior to retiring to Bay County, Gerry and her husband, Bob, lived in Gonzales, Louisiana for 24 years and Amarillo, Texas for 14 years.
Gerry was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Wayne Bratcher her parents George and Mary Evans and three brothers, Gerald Evans, George Dude Evans, Jr. and Melvin Evans.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Bob W. Bratcher of Panama City Beach, FL her daughter, Cindy Rainey and husband, James of Picayune, MS her son, David Bratcher and wife, Marie of Richmond, MO her sister Maryann Johnson and husband, Ron, of Wichita, KS her grandchildren: Tony Cagnolatti and fiancee, Jessie VanOrder Amy Cagnolatti Bishop and husband, Ben and Laura Bratcher Esfeller and husband, Patrick three great grandchildren: Evan Bishop, Emmi Esfeller and Gracie Esfeller and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerry will also be greatly missed by countless friends throughout the country.
A Memorial Service was held at Venture Out in Panama City Beach on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 with the Reverend Henry Hazard officiating. Visitation will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 10 am until 12 pm, visitation will resume at the funeral home from 1 pm until Chapel Service at 2 pm with Rev. Larry Pickering officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:30 pm, Saturday evening at The Venue, 43503 Quality Lane Suite G, Gonzales.
The family wishes to extend thanks to her extended family in Venture Out for their love and support during her illness. Special thanks to Covenant Hospice and Home Instead staff for their loving care.
