George Martinez, Sr.

A native of Chackbay and retired from Ormet Corp., he passed away Thursday, March 17,
2011, at age 89 at his home in Baton Rouge. He was a U.S.Army World War II veteran. Visitation will be at Ascension Funeral Home in Gonzales on Monday, March 21, from 10
a.m. until service at 1 p.m., conducted by Deacon Bill Blair. He is survived by his loving
wife of 27 years, Janice Demitro Martinez five sons and their wives, Philip and
Christina Martinez, Frank and Darla Martinez, of Gonzales, Roy and Darlene Martinez, of Lutcher, and Anthony Tony Martinez and Michael Martinez, both of LaPlace three stepsons, Nick Demitro and wife Pollyanna, Rick Demitro and Peter Demitro
stepdaughter, Robin Adams and husband Ronnie 22 grandchildren, 31 greatgrandchildren and four greatgreatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Schexnayder Martinez and Norbert Martinez two sons, George Martinez Jr. and Earl Martinez a grandson, Steven Martinez and exwife, Pauline Martinez. Pallbearers will be his sons, Philip, Frank, Roy, Anthony and Michael, and stepson, Ronnie Adams. Condolences may be offered at www.ascensionfuneral.com.
