Geneva "Jenny" Gautreau, age 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 9:05 a.m. at Ascension Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gonzales, LA. A resident of Gonzales and native of Sunshine, LA. Visiting at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church on Monday, September 11, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. Eric V. Gyan. Burial at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Gonzales, LA. Survived by three daughters, Juanita Theriot and husband, Dempsey, Elaine Dean, and Marilyn Mayon and husband, Ted; three sons, Blake B. Gautreau and wife, Jennifer, Bryan J. Gautreau and wife, Sheila, and Dean M. Gautreau; four sisters, Jeanette Acaldo, Theresa Gautreau, Mary Ann Holton, and Beverly Rouyea; one brother, Mervin P. Young; fifteen grandchildren, Gerald "Jay" Gautreau Jr. and wife, Lessie, Amy Babin and husband, Ray, Shane P. Kling and wife, Monique, Susie G. Montgomery and husband, Jamie, Kerry M. Dean, Jody C. Dean, Michelle Bordelon and husband, Todd, Teri Decoteau and husband, Dirck, Ted Mayon Jr. and wife, Dayna, Shannon Liotta and husband, Charlie, Holly Levene, Stacy Levene, Brittany Gautreau, and Stevie Rae Gautreau; thirty-two great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Joseph Gautreau Jr.; son, Gerald James Gautreau Sr.; parents, Sam and Corrine Young; sister, Joyce Gautreau; two brothers, Joseph Sitman Young and Alvin M. Young; and two sons-in-law, Barney J. Kling and Robert C. Dean. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Please visit the online guestbook.
