Gayle Hebert Kling

Gayle Hebert Kling lost her battle with Alzheimer’s on November 9th, 2023.  She was born on December 18, 1943, in Weber City, Gonzales La.  She has resided in Dutchtown for over 50 years since marring her husband Shafter Kling. 

Gayle is survived by her husband Shafter Kling and her youngest sister Angela Babin & husband Kane and by her five children, Brad Kling, Kelly Shackleford & husband David, Karen Hawkins & husband Michael, Marc DeArmond & girlfriend Melonay and Johnny DeArmond & wife DeEtte.  She had 9 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild and 10 great grandchildren.  Gayle is preceded in death by her parents Windom Hebert and Mildred Melancon and by her brothers and sister, Windom (Boo Boo) Hebert Jr., Gene Terry Hebert and Sandy Daigle. 

Throughout her life she was dedicated to raising her kids’ reading books, traveling and running a household.  She worked at Beverly’s Flower shop with Karla Anderson & Marie Mumphrey, who she loved working with.  She spent her last year’s sitting on the patio singing and dancing to Elvis Presley. 

The family would like to give special thanks to her cousin and caregiver Barbara Melancon and caregivers Lynn Wassan and Dawn Louis and Dr. Fraiche for all his care. 

Visitation will be at Ascension Funeral Home in Gonzales, LA Tuesday, November 14^th, 2023, from 9 am until the funeral service at 11 am in the funeral home chapel,  followed by an interment at St. John cemetery in Prairieville.
