Evelyn Lambert

A resident of St. Amant and native of Gonzales, she died on Monday, April 27, 2009 at Gonzales Health Care Center. She was 82. She was a beautician for 50 years. Visitation will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 from 5pm until 9pm. Visitation on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, beginning at 9am. Rev. Jon Koehler Celebration of the mass of Christian burial will begin at 10am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leroy and Darlene Lambert, two daughters; Shirley DeLaune and husband Gerald, and Barbara Templet, one brother, Kevelyn Babin, three sisters; Ruth Duplessis, Rita Melancon and Hazel Melancon, nine grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren, one step great-granddaughter and one step great great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leus and Juliette Young Babin Mayers, her step father, Wickliff Mayers, her husband, John Baptist Lambert, one brother, Robert Boo Babin and one sister, Elva Mae Shy Bourgeois. She was a member of both the VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Gonzales. www.ascensionfuneral.com
