Estine Rusk Sr.

Estine Joseph Rusk Sr., age 81, passed away peacefully from this life on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA at 1:00 p.m. A native of Simmesport, LA and resident of Prairieville, LA. He was a wonderful man who truly loved all of his family and friends, a great husband, father, papa, and pop-pop. He was a deacon on the board at his home church, Victory Temple Pentecostal Church of God, and truly loved by all his church family. Many a great fishing and camping stories and life lessons in general were shared by all spent with him. He will truly be missed by every life he touched while here on this earth. Visiting on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Victory Temple Pentecostal Church of God, 41200 Hwy. 933, Prairieville, LA. Visiting on Wednesday, from 8:00 a.m. until service at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor James May. Burial at Hungarian Presbyterian Cemetery in Albany, LA. He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Sherran Dodd Rusk; daughter, Kelli Rusk Brock and her husband, Kevin Brock; five grandchildren, Estine Joseph Rusk III, Kevin Dale Brock and his wife, Sarah Stermer Brock, Kara Brock Behrnes and her husband, Ian Behrnes, Kaleb Brock and his wife, Josie Brown Brock, and Lee Milne and his wife, Julie Milne; seven great grandchildren, Rhema Behrnes, Jaidyn Brock, Audra Brock, Ayla Behrnes, Ander Milne, Ruby Milne, and Estin Brock; and two brothers, Cootsie Rusk Sr. and wife, Ruth Bordelon Rusk and Berton Rusk and his wife, Sue Rouse Rusk. Preceded in death by two of his children, Estine Joseph “E.J.” Rusk Jr. and Pamela Rusk; father, Bert Elem Rusk Sr.; mother, Addie Bonnette Rusk; sisters, Ruby Rusk Mayeau, Maddie “Bonnie” Rusk Authur, Bertha Rusk Lonick, Grace Rusk Brouillette, and Margie Rusk Zimmer; brother, Tracy Rusk Sr.; and grandchild, Alyssa Melynn Swain.
