Elma Decoteau

A resident of Gonzales, she died on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Butterfly Wing at Ollie Steele Burdon Manor. She was 92. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales, from 5pm until 9pm. Visitation on Thursday will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, 42021 Hwy 621, Gonzales, from 8:30am until 10am. Rev. Rubin Reynolds will celebrate a mass of Christian burial at 10am. Burial will follow in Hope Haven Cemetery, Hwy 30 in Gonzales. She is survived by three daughters Geneva Kling, Juanita Stader, Catherine and Pat Gautreau, soninlaw, Paul Elisar, two sons Louis Decoteau and C.J., Jr. and Patty Decoteau, sisterinlaw, Ruth Decoteau Bercegeay and numerous grandchildren great and greatgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Elphore and Aristilia Bercegeay, her husband of over sixtyfour years, Clifford J. Decoteau, Sr. daughter, Ann Elisar, soninlaw, Berlin Kling, Sr., daughterinlaw, Sharon Decoteau, three sisters and six brothers. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her primary care physician, Dr. John Fraiche, all of staff in the Medicine Wing at St. Elizabeth Hospital and the Drs., nurses, and staff at the Butterfly Wing.
