Ehlert Moore Jr.

Ehlert John "E. J." Moore Jr., age 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales, LA. A resident of Prairieville and native of Lake, LA. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, served during the Korean War aboard the U.S.S. Valley Forge. He was a retired electrician. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visiting resumes at St. Mark Catholic Church, Hwy. 621, on Friday, November 13, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Father Rubin Reynolds. Burial at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Gonzales. Survived by his wife, Shirley Arceneaux Moore; daughters, Rene T. Forbes and husband, Carl, and Lora J. Broussard; son, Matt J. Moore and wife, Bonnie; brother, Charles C. Moore; granddaughters, Danica Broussard and Gina Odom Dixon; grandsons, Wayne Odom, Clint Odom, Kyle Odom, Steven Moore, Ryan Moore, Roger Moore; and great grandchildren, Dresdan Moore, Zoe Dixon, Kennedy Dixon, Ella Odom Audrey Odom, Annabella Odom, and Rebecca Foster. Preceded in death by his parents, Ehlert J. Moore Sr. and Mae Ellen Threeton Moore; sisters, Tina Moore Graham and Elsie Moore Little Nickens; and great grandson, Vann Moore.
