Doyle Noah Templet, a native of St. Amant, Louisiana, was born on March 18th, 1939. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 at the age of 80 years old. Doyle was a music legend in South Louisiana who inspired many musicians, family members, and friends to follow in his footsteps, especially his son, Darrin. He was known for his powerful voice and his beautiful smile. Besides music, Doyle enjoyed spending time in his garden and always continued to further his education in any way that he could. Doyle was a charismatic and talented man who had an infectious laugh that will be missed dearly. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Doyle’s life on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 at Ascension Funeral Home from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 from 9 A.M. until a funeral service at 11 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Amant. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary cemetery. Doyle is survived by his children, Dorna Templet, DeShea Templet Ramey and husband Terry, and daughter-in-law Lesley Lambert Templet; grandchildren, Taren Moore, Amanda Duplessis, Katie Moore, Bailee and Corey Ramey, and Brandon Templet, as well as six great grandchildren. Doyle was preceded in death by his beloved son and best friend, Darrin Paul Templet; his parents, Ovide and Elpha Templet; his brothers, Louis, Lucien, Lawrence, and Leo Templet; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brandon Templet, Corey Ramey, Terry Ramey, Grant Duplessis, Butch Patterson, Joey Templet, Richard Bercegeay, Craig Cook, and Chet Bargas.
