Dotty Babin

The gates of Heaven opened wide, the angels held their arms outstretched, and God's choir sang in glory as His beautiful rose was plucked from her earthly existence and joyously welcomed into Heaven's Garden. Dotty E. Babin, age 80, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at The Blake at the Grove in Baton Rouge, LA at 9:50 p.m. A resident and native of St. Amant, LA. She was a retired bus driver of 25 years for the Ascension Parish School System. She loved quilting, cooking, sewing, playing cards, and family. Visiting on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visiting on Friday, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 Hwy. 429, St. Amant, LA from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Father Joshua Johnson. Entombment in the church mausoleum. Survived by her beloved companion, Raymond LeBlanc; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth "Liz" and Rocky Nicholas, Estelle and Robert "Bob" Babin, and Evelyn and Larry Buquoi; eight grandchildren, Taylor Distefano, Brittany Distefano, Casey Sheppard and wife, Nicki, Bruce Sheppard and wife, Megan, Adam Babin and wife, Katelyn, Brian Buquoi and wife, Elizabeth, Bridget Buquoi Poche and husband, Mike, and Joni Buquoi; and ten great grandchildren, Caleb Sheppard, Colby Sheppard, Ada Sheppard, Ian Sheppard, Job Sheppard, Ela Sheppard, Ethan Babin, Haley Babin, Chloe Buquoi, and Louie Buquoi. Preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Clyde Joseph Babin; parents, Elphage "King" and Delphine Babin; adopted father, Floyal "Mook" Babin; two brothers, James "Jimmy" E. Babin and Gilbert "Tom" Babin. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Special thanks to The Blake at the Grove and Canon Hospice, especially, Jessica Dunaway, for love and care given to our mother.
