Dotsie Babin

November 10, 1928 — January 31, 2019

On January 31, 2019 Dotsie Mae Cedotal Babin "Dot" left her earthly life to spend eternity with God. Dot was married to Leon A. Babin Jr. for 66 years until his death in 2013. Dot's heart was big, her love of family knew no bounds. She knew life's sorrows and joys but her faith in God made her an example of how to act and treat others. She did not see herself as the shining example that she was. She was much too humble to take credit for anything but a well-cooked meal. Everyone but her knew she was much greater than that. We will miss her smile, big laugh, humble spirit, and strong faith. She knows we are all in God's hands and live by His Mercy and Grace. Dot was not sophisticated or worldly. That's what made her the perfect vessel for God to use, to show His compassion, care, and love for everyone she knew. Dot was born on November 10, 1928 to George and Adel Cedotal. At age three, both of her parents died from illness. Her older sister, Theresa took her in and cared for her. Dot attended Galvez Primary School in Gonzales, LA. As a young woman, she moved to Baton Rouge to work at Jack's Cookie Factory. It was at this time, she met Leon Babin Jr. nicknamed, "Dag". They were married and became forevermore, Dot and Dag. All of their years together, they loved to spend time dancing. Later in life, Dot and Dag enjoyed spending time at the casino. It became one of her favorite things to do.
