Dorothy Dot Petit Roussel
A beautiful, gracious and loving woman, she was resident of Gonzales and native of Hester, LA. She died peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at her home. She was 93 years old. Those years were filled with joy, her faith and love for her devoted family.
Visiting on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013 at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA from 4:00pm to 7:30pm. On Monday at St. Theresa Avila Catholic Church from 9:30am until mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am conducted by Rev. Alec Sheldon. Intombment in the mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery in Convent, LA. Survived by: daughter and son in law: Mary Roussel and Marion F. Nesvadba. Son and daughter in law: Joe and Rachel Roussel. 2 sisters: Diane Petit Marchese, Rose Petit Louviere. 1 Brother: Melvin Joseph Petit. 5 grandchildren: Mary Susan Nesvadba, Jonathan Francis Nesvadba, Joel Christian Nesvadba, Jamie Elaine Nesvadba, and Christopher Dash Duncan. Preceded in death by her loving husband: Clovis Louis Roussel. Parents: Michael and Evelyn Petit. Infant twins: Martha and Ann Petit. 1 sister: Evelyn Petit Pitts. 8 brothers: Claude, Harold, Herbert, Dudley, Michael, Ronald and Donald Petit and Gerald Miller. She was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church and a 40 year member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a former choir member at the church and a former member of the Ladies Altar Society. She was very involved in the Ascension Council on Aging. Her life touched all others that crossed her blessed path.
