Dorothy Marsh

January 31, 1917 — January 19, 2011

A native of Seattle and a resident of Prairieville, Dorothy Thompson Marsh, Dottie and Nanny, passed away in Spring, Texas, on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011. She is survived by a son, Lonnie and wife Ginny, of Greensboro, N.C. a daughter, Susie and husband Kenny, of Spring seven grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Kristen, Laura and husband Ken, Rob and wife Lindsay, Jon, Matthew, Katie and husband Dave, and Melissa and husband Jonathan and a beautiful greatgranddaughter, Lylah. She is also survived by nephews and nieces from Oregon and Washington and a dear friend, Lou Reid, of Central. She was preceded in death by the love of her life with 57 years of marriage, Leon W. Marsh Sr. parents, Geary and Katherine Thompson stepmother, Clara Thompson brothers, Ed and Hugh Thompson and niece, Judy Hamilton. Dottie was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, Ruth SS class and the Senior Adult Bible study class. She retired from the East Baton Rouge school system with 25 years of service. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Scottish Rite Baton Rouge and Order of the Eastern Star Istrouma chapter 77. Arrangements at Ascension Funeral Home of Gonzales, 225 6478463. A wake will be held Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. The service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, conducted by the Rev. Leon W. Marsh, Jr. and the Rev. Merlin Livernman. Burial at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews: Matthew Dice, Rob Marsh, Jon Marsh, Jimmy Marsh, Tee El Webb and Mason Crain.
