Dorothy "Dot" Boudreaux Rome

Dorothy “Dot” Boudreaux Rome passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 14, 2024, surrounded by her family.  She was born on September 27, 1935, in Plaquemine, LA.  She was a native of Donaldsonville, LA and resident of Prairieville, LA.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend; her family was always her highest priority.  Dot loved spending time with her husband of 64 years, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her family and friends.  She will be deeply missed.  


She is survived by her husband Edward J. Rome Jr.; her daughters Renee Dyer and Phyllis Babin (Ricky); grandchildren Amanda Babin Dzbor (Juraj), Jordan Babin (Britnee), Nicholas Dyer (Taylor) and Nathan Dyer; her great grandchildren Amelia, Charlotte and Vivienne Dzbor, Alex Babin and the future Tatum Dyer.  She is also survived by her brother Wilson Boudreaux (Dee Anne); sisters-in-law Ethelyn Rome and Betty Boudreaux; and numerous family members and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Elise Boudreaux, her siblings Jimmy Boudreaux and Verna Morgan, and her niece Candace Boudreaux Whaley.  She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.  


Dot donated her body to the LSU School of Medicine, therefore in Lieu of a visitation, we will have a Celebration of Life Open House on Saturday, March 30, 2024, from 1PM to 3PM at the home of Ricky and Phyllis Babin for anyone wishing to stop by and share a favorite memory of Dot.
