Doloris Elaine Rice

Doloris Elaine Rice, age 93, peacefully passed away at her home in Prairieville, LA on December 22, 2024. She was born in Longview, TX, and eventually settled in Prairieville, LA in 1966 where she spent the rest of her life. Doloris’s primary occupation was as a wife, mother (grandmother), and homemaker.

Services will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Friday, December 27, 2024, with visitation (no viewing) at 9:00 a.m. and service at 10:00 a.m. conducted by her grandsons. A graveside gathering will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory.

Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Angelo "Zeke" Nola; five grandchildren, Chad Young and wife, Kim, Kelly Porta and husband, Ben, Captain Jack Young, USMC (Retired) and wife, Kristy, Terry Villar and wife, Sandy, and Teddy Villar and wife, Delaine; twenty great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband, Clifford “Jack” Rice, great-granddaughter, Abby Nicole Young, great-grandson Stephen M. Young, daughter Sharon Hanna (Villar); grandsons, Tony Villar and Tyson Villar, her four brothers, and her parents Rufus Walton Fautheree and Lela Lodema Hammonds Fautheree.
