Dewey Creel, Jr.

A resident of Gonzales and a native of Franklinton, he died Sunday evening, February 22, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was 59. He was an U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 7pm at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales. The parlor will open at 6pm for visitation. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Haydel Creel, two sons and daughters-in-law; Scott and Jill Creel and Brandon and Kristi Creel, a brother, Philip Creel and three grandchildren; Cade, McKenzie and Bailey Creel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Wilbur Creel, Sr. and Eloise Lee Creel. He was a high school baseball umpire and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
