Desmond Roddy, Sr.

A resident of Gonzales, he died on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 75. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales, from 6pm until 9pm and again on Monday beginning at 8am. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 10am. Burial will follow in Ficklin Cemetery. He is survived by his five children and spouses Rita and George Buster Hughes, Russell and Heidi Roddy, Tammy Roddy and Darby Saunier, Desmond Jr., Duke and Sonia Roddy and Vincent and Kelly Roddy, his sister Joyce LeSaicherre, grandchildren and spouses Jason Roddy, Nikki and Kevin Causey, Kara and Dean Landes, Kirstin Lewis Templet, Aimee and Jeffery Williams, Justin Roddy, Jon Bourgeois, Jared Roddy, Eric and Haleigh Hughes, Chelsea, Zachary, Caitlin, Courtney, Cade, Reece and Sophia Roddy, greatgrandchildren Jascelyn and Jesse Roddy, Carter and Alie Causey, Jason and Parker Landes, Kane and Kyli Sanchez, Bricen and Brilee Templet and Ramsey Hughes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Roddy, mother and stepfather, Daisy and Rob Young, his father, Joseph T. Roddy, son, Daniel Roddy, brother Delvis Roddy, sister, Sarah Faith Roddy and brotherinlaw, Joseph LeSaicherre. Pallbearers will be Jason Roddy, Eric Hughes, Zachary Roddy, Paul Myers, Delvin Chapman, Andy Penalber, Mike Roberts, John Lambert and Brad Moran. The family would like to say a special thanks to the Poor Mans Hunting Club for all the good times and great memories. Our family will cherish these memories for ever and lets not forget all the great food. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.
