Dean Himel

Dean Himel passed away surrounded by his family at home in Gonzales, LA at 7:12 pm on May 1st, 2021. He was 64 years old and a native of St. Amant, LA.  He worked as a brick mason for 46 years, the last 18 as a supervisor for Thorpe Plant Services. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and working in his beautiful flower garden. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home 426 W. New River St. Gonzales on Friday May 7, 2021 from 5 pm to 8 pm. He is survived by his wife Marie Himel; two daughters, Dinea Himel Farmer and husband Richard, Jennifer Boudreaux and husband Zach; two sons, Dustan Himel and wife Keleigh, Cullen Black and wife Kathy; six grandchildren, Maci, Payton, and  Briggs Boudreaux, Reid, Olivia, and Brady Black, and baby Himel on the way; a sister, Ann Hooper and husband Duke; brothers, Dale Himel and wife Heidi, Russ Himel and wife Gwen.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Eloise Himel; brothers, Van and Kim Himel; niece, Janey Hooper.
