A native of Virginia and a resident of Louisiana since 1966, Ms. Rawls was affectionately known as Cy. She worked as a graphic artist at Exxon Baton Rouge Refinery and was sole proprietor of Industrial Graphics. Cy left Louisiana in 1988 to work for the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC. In 1996, she returned to Baton Rouge and was proprietor of Dirty Harry's Saloon on Wooddale Boulevard from 1996-1997. In 1998, Cy moved to Galvez and worked for the LSU Department of Geography & Anthropology until 2004. She was a long time member of the Baton Rouge League of Women Voters and the River Region Art Association where she spent much time volunteering and enjoying the company of other artists from the area. Cy is survived by daughter Beth Tarver Rawls Nettles, Port Allen, LA; son T-Charles Morgan Rawls and wife Ann, French Settlement, LA; grandchildren Andrew Nettles (Lindsey); Abigail Nettles; Alicia Rawls; great granddaughters Drew Blair Nettles and Murphy Camille Nettles; sister Jane Miller, Dallas, TX. Preceded in death by sisters Becky Wilson, New Orleans, LA; Evelyn Hughey, Bremo Bluff, VA; Margaret Brown, Bremo Bluff, VA; Mary Prokop, Arlington VA; brother Kenneth Minter, Richmond, VA; and long time friend Harry Reid. A celebration of life gathering will be held at Parc 73, 14379 LA-73, Prairieville, LA 70769, Wednesday, July 2, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
