Loving husband, father and grandfather
A resident and native of Gonzales, he died early Sunday morning, March 1, 2009 at the Carpenter House, St. Joseph Hospice. He was 72. Curtis proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp and went on to have a long career as a machinist where he retired from Fisher Service Company. Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2009 from 6pm until 9pm at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., and the parlor will reopen on Tuesday at 11am. Deacon James Morrissey will conduct funeral services at 1pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Cornerview Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Mayer Young, two sons and daughters-in-law; Michael and Ann Young and Marty and Pam Young, three grandchildren; Brooke, Michael, Jr. and John Young and two brothers; Charles and Jorda Young, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hyson and Violet Young. Pallbearers will be; Jorda Young, Jr., Chad Young, Rickie Mayer, Wilfred Bercegeay, Mikey Young and John Young. Curtis was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to travel and above all other things, and he loved his family.
