A loving husband, father and grandfather and a resident of Gonzales, he died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Gonzales Health Care Center. He was 90 and retired as a general repairman from Kaiser Aluminum with 27 years of service. He was a native of St. James Parish and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II who served as a cook on the USS Sulfridge. Visiting at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Tuesday, May 10, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Rubin Reynolds, celebrant. Entombment in Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Gonzales. Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Inez Bercegeay Forsythe three daughters, Rosalind F. Poirrier and husband Leon, Claudette F. Hooper and husband Glynn, and Angela A. Forsythe and fianc Matt Palmer son, Claude Blue Forsythe Jr. and wife Gail sister, Noelie Hymel two brothers, Lucius Forsythe Jr. and Louis Forsythe 10 grandchildren, Sherrie, Allison, David, Kelli, Amber, Scott, Adam, Amanda, Jory and Jada five greatgrandchildren, Mason, Kyndal, Tayler, Megan, Kadie, and one on the way. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 8147, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3695, United Steel Workers Union 5702, and lifetime member of the 7th District Volunteer Fire Department.
