Chris Remel

Mrs. Chris Mary Remel, 91, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. She was a native of Avoyelles Parish and a resident of Gonzales. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. until chapel service at noon. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in St. Rose. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, John T. Remel five daughters, Christine Robinson and husband Jimmy, Mydris Remel, Debra Russell and husband Ken, Monique Jackson and husband Joe, and Carolyn Remel foster daughter, Debbie Colomb two sisters, Beulah DeMoss, and Ethel Landry and husband Sammy two brothers, Nolan Brouillette and wife Delores, and Calvin Brouillette and wife Julia three grandchildren, Terry Russell and wife Tina, Timothy Russell and wife Elisa, and Jeanne Samples and three greatgrandchildren, Hannah, Haylee and Madelyn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie L. and Cora L. Brouillette sister, Vergie Brouillette two brothers, Huey Brouillette and Elandar Brouillette and brotherinlaw, Garland DeMoss. The family thanks her caregivers, Bonnie Hernandez and Sylvia Palmer, for their care and love.
