Charles Harrison Sr.

Charles M. Harrison Sr., age 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2020, at 8:45 p.m. at his daughter’s home in Jonesboro, LA. A resident of Gonzales, LA and native of Jonesboro, LA. He was a retired machinist with Ethyl Corporation. A WWII veteran with the Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Gautreau Williams American Legion Post 81 in Gonzales and member of the New River Lodge 402 F and AM. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Friday, June 26, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Jeremy Starnes. There will be a Masonic Service at 10:15 a.m. Interment with Military Honors at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Gonzales, LA. Survived by his daughters, Achsah Harrison, Elizabeth Harrison Niemi, Lucy Harrison Ory and husband, George, and Diane Harrison McLean and husband, Duncan; son, Donald Wade Harrison and wife, Becky; brother, James Stuart Harrison and wife, Sarah; sister-in-law, Irma Lee Harrison; grandchildren, Richard Niemi and wife, Catherine, Scott Niemi, Charles M. “Trey” Harrison III, Jaci Harrison, and Daniel McLean; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Annie Jean Harrison; parents, Will L. and Achsah B. Harrison; son, Charles M. Harrison II; and nine siblings.
