Carolyn Marie Remel, born on May 5, 1964, at the age of 52, passed away at her home on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 10:55 p.m. A resident of Gonzales, LA and native of Metairie, LA. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. until service at 10:30 a.m. conducted by The Reverend Rubin Reynolds, followed by a graveside at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 11316 River Rd., St. Rose, LA at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Deacon Jeff Tulley of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, LA. Survived by her three sisters, Christine Robinson and husband, James, Debra Russell and husband, Ken, and Monique Jackson and husband, Joseph; foster sisters, Debra Colomb and Gwen Lambert; former husband, Herman Doorlag; two sons, Shane Doorlag and Shawn Doorlag; a dear friend of many years, Debbie Thrasher; a dear friend, Bobby Mones; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces. Preceded in death by her parents, John T. and Chris Mary Remel; and a sister, Mydris Lane Remel. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Please visit the online guestbook.
