Carolyn Ardoin

September 15, 1946 — August 9, 2024

Carolyn Joy Grice Ardoin passed away peacefully the morning of August 9th, 2024, at the age of 77. She was surrounded by her beloved family and best friend and will be missed dearly.

Carolyn was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on September 15, 1946, the daughter of Walter Edgar Grice and Sylvia Thibodeaux Grice, the sister of Walter Thomas Grice, Jr. She married her ex-husband Adam Wayne Ardoin and has two beautiful daughters. After being divorced for many years, she found love again in Leonard McCauley, whom she lost not long after.

She worked as a CNA for 30 years before retiring in 2015. As a CNA, she was known for becoming close with her patients and loving them like they were her family. On her days off, she would watch LSU football games, spend time with her family, and go shopping with her friends.

Carolyn is survived by her children, John Anderson, Gail Ardoin, and Kristi Ardoin Buie (James Buie); her grandchildren, Shay Michael Williams (Richard Williams), Kyler Jackson (Danielle Cupit), Savanna Wood (Matthew Wood), Sarah Anderson, Jordan Anderson (Taylor Anderson), and Kira Buie; her great-grandchildren, Kaden Hanson, Kason Bowlin, Damien Wood, Blakelynn Anderson, Kyle Copeland II, Kai Jackson, and Aria Wood; her nephews, Craig Grice and Chad Grice; her life-long friends, Jane Burk Bergeron, Carolyn Vendt, and Madge Talley Henagan.
