Truly exceptional and one of a kind, Bret will live forever in the hearts of many who were fortunate enough to have known him. His remembrance will be one of a happy, loving, hard-working man that was full of life. He was a loving husband, father, and friend to all who knew him. Bret worked in construction and was employed with TSC as a supervisor. He was a resident of Livingston Parish, and a native of Ascension Parish, Louisiana. Bret passed away on November 11, 2015 at the age of 49 years old, called home to be with the Lord and re-united with family members preceding him in death, which include his mother, Linda Ann Duplessis Spruell, his aunt and godmother, Kathleen Marie Causey, and his grandmother, Helen Duplessis. Bret is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Monica Bryant Broussard; devoted and treasured sons, Chet Anthony Lavigne, Chase Wayne Lavigne and Bret Thomas Broussard; his father, Jerolyn "Bud" Broussard and his wife, Evon Broussard; his sister, Thelmalynn Blakey and her husband, Charles Blakey; his brother, Jerolyn Gene Broussard; and cousins, Robert Villar Jr., Tori Villar, Shelli Garner, Jamie Barbour and Keri Villar, Joshua Perry, Corey Garner and Lexee Salsman. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA, on Monday, November 16, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until service at 11:30 a.m., conducted by Reverend Charles Marceaux and Reverend Robbie Dickerson. Interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Prairieville. Pallbearers will be Jerolyn Broussard, Dwayne Perry, Joshua Perry, Corey Garner, Robert Villar Jr., Wade Roddy, Charles Ray Hill and Charlie Freeman.
