Bonnie Leblanc

Bonnie Childress LeBlanc, a native of Texas, and former resident of Gonzales, LA passed away at the age of 94 on Friday, March 16, 2018 in Dunlap, TN, from pneumonia. Ms. LeBlanc was a homemaker most of her married life and blessed her children greatly with her amazing skill at sewing, canning, painting and gardening before moving to Gonzales, LA with her husband in their later years. She leaves lasting and wonderful memories for her family and friends. Ms. LeBlanc was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her 8 children, Linda L. Kelly (John), Lon P. LeBlanc, Denise L. Scifres (Robert), Celeste L. Brookshire (Roy), Alan L. LeBlanc (Debbie), Noel D. LeBlanc (Eyra), Beth L. Matthews (Bill) and Jennifer L. LeBlanc. Ms. LeBlanc was also, the proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 nieces, Charlsey Tidwell and Evelyn McGee, and 3 nephews, Harry Childress, Ronnie Childress and George Wilson Childress, and several great nieces and nephews. Ms. LeBlanc was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Lowney L. LeBlanc, her parents, Bessie Barnes Childress and George Washington Childress, 7 siblings and 1 granddaughter, Brittney LeBlanc. Visiting on Friday, March 23, 2018, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, Gonzales, LA from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Eric V. Gyan. Interment at Prairieville Community Cemetery, Prairieville, LA. Serving as pallbearers will be: sons, Lon LeBlanc, Alan LeBlanc, Noel LeBlanc, son-in-law, Robert Scifres, grandsons, Brian Kelly and Kevin Kelly.
