Betty Wilson

Betty Joyce Benoit Wilson, a native of Plaisance, LA and resident of Prairieville, LA, passed away peacefully at Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 11:34 a.m. She was 83 yrs. old. Visitation at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA, on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visiting on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service at 10:00 a.m. by Bro. James May of Victory Temple Church in Prairieville. Burial to follow at Bellevue Memorial Park, 4833 Hwy. 182 South, Opelousas, LA, at 1:00 p.m. Survived by a daughter, Mary Wilson Brouillette of Prairieville; a son, Ricky James Wilson of Prairieville; a daughter, Cindy Marie Wilson Normand and husband, Johnny Normand of Prairieville; four grandchildren, Amanda Lynn Brouillette, Johnny Normand Jr. and wife, Nicole Bourgeois Normand, Mindy Marie Normand and husband, Chris Guidry of Opelousas, and Casey Lynn Normand and husband, Timmy Payne of Church Point; and five great grandchildren, Byron Anthony Normand, Christian Isaiah Normand, Chase Joseph Normand, all of Prairieville, Olivia Michelle Payne, and Aubry Marie Payne of Church Point. Preceded in death by her husband, Edward Joseph Wilson; her father, Raoul Benoit and mother, Eleza Moran Benoit; and granddaughter, Wendy Lynn Normand Pryer, all of Plaucheville, LA. Betty was a wonderful mother, full of life, and love for all. She loved her church, all of its members, and all of her friends at the Ascension Council on Aging.
