Barbara Henderson

Barbara Jo "Barbie" Henderson, a resident of Ascension Parish, faithful member of the Household of Faith in Gonzales, where she served her God as a dedicated and committed servant regardless of her disability for over 25 years. She was born on November 30, 1965 and departed her life here on earth and entered her eternal home on March 3, 2019 at the Carpenter House in Baton Rouge at 7:50 a.m. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Prairieville, LA. She leaves cherished memories to her faithful and loving caregiver for 27 years, Ms. Lolitha Scott; her father, Louis Joseph Henderson Jr. of Prairieville, LA; her sister, Darlene Long and husband, Mac of Husser, LA; brothers, David Henderson and wife, Ann of Pittsburg, TX and Kenneth Henderson and wife, Pheobe of the country of Oman; brother-in-law, Charles "Chuckie" Parker of St. Amant, LA; eight nieces; four nephews; five aunts; and a host of friends and relatives. Preceded in death by her mother, Ora Applewhite Henderson; maternal grandparents, Jack and Jeanetta Applewhite; paternal grandparents, Joseph and Lottie Henderson; two brothers, Ricky and Ronnie Peacock; sister, Renee Parker; nephew, Charles "Chip" Parker; two uncles, Joe and Ezra Applewhite; and aunt, Jewel DeNova. Special thanks to 4 Ever Caring staff, Ms. Stephanie Burns, owner and administrator; Lucille Grilliam; Markel Travis; Angelina and many others that have administered care over the years.
