Argelie Moran Bourgeois

Argelie “Gee” Moran Bourgeois, a resident of St. Amant, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the age of 90. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church for many years most notably serving as a leader of the Bereavement Committee providing food for families in mourning. She was also a member of TOPS Louisiana Charter 46 serving as the records recorder. Argelie was a talented seamstress and cook. She enjoyed being around her family and had a giggle that could make anyone’s day better.

Argelie was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Milton Bourgeois; their children, Rocky Paul and Rockell Marie; her parents, Albert Moran Sr. and Ursule Bourgeois Moran; her brothers, Alex Moran, Morris Moran, John Morin, Joseph (J.C.) Moran, Albert Moran Jr. and Andrew Moran; and her sisters, Rita Moran Gautreau, Rena Moran Nigg, and Ruth Moran Braud.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Richard Bonneval; granddaughter and husband, Dareth Bonneval Waguespack and Dal Waguespack; grandson and wife, Erik Bonneval and Brandi Brazzel Bonneval; five great-granddaughters, Madison and Mylie Bonneval, and Blythe, Ada, and Camille Waguespack; and her sisters, Theresa Moran Savoy (Joseph) and Bernardine Moran.

Family and friends are invited to attend Argelie’s services on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 LA-429, St. Amant, LA 70774. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., celebrated by Father Matthew Lorrain. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. John Fraiche; Hospice of Baton Rouge nurses Hannah, Anyangue, Lisa, and Ms. Linda, for their compassion and care for Argelie and the family. Gee’s legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on in all who knew her.
