Amelia Lebert

A resident of Baton Rouge, she died on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Oschner Medical Center in New Orleans. She survived seven open heart surgeries including a heart transplant on May 31, 2008. She was two years old. Funeral services will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales, on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:30 am. The parlor will open at 11 am. She is survived by her parents, Amos Joseph and Cara Lynn LeBert, her sister Ashley LeAnn LeBert, brother, Michael Ray LeBert, grandparents; Kathryn Diane and Bill Smith, Bobby Ray and Laurie Sivils and Jamie and Michael Joseph LeBert, great-grandmothers, Carolyn Bateman and Patricia Ann LeBert and her aunts and uncles; Jessie LeBert, Sarah LeBert, Mia and Joseph Taylor, B.J. Sivils, and Anthony Schumann. She was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers; John Wesley Bateman, Jr., Bobby Lee Sivils, Leroy Joseph LeBert and James Schumann. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Thomas Young and his team and to the Arkansas and New Orleans Childrens Hospitals and the countless others who have kept Amelia in their thoughts and prayers throughout her journey.
