Alton "Uncle Bill" Leggett, age 87, passed away peacefully at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at 6:45 p.m. He was born on May 17, 1930 in Meadville, MS. A resident of Prairieville, LA, former resident of Baton Rouge. He retired as an ironworker with the Ironworkers Local 623. An Army veteran having served during the Korean War. Visiting at Victory Temple Pentecostal Church of God, 41200 Hwy. 933, Prairieville, LA on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until service at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Bro. James May. Burial at Hope Haven Garden of Memory, Gonzales, LA. Survived by his nephews, Charles D. Leggett and Clinton "Pistol" Elledge; niece, Susan Mitchell; and great niece, Amanda Hadden. Preceded in death by his parents, Seaborn and Ethel Mae Leggett; two sisters, Ollie Mae Bordelon and Alline Elledge; brother, Charles S. Leggett; and a great nephew, Elvis Elledge.
