Alberta James

Alberta James, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at 7:28 p.m. at her home. A native of Campti, LA and resident of Prairieville, LA. She was a retired meat wrapper with National Food Store. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visiting resumes on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until service at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. Marvin Reed. Burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Preceded in death by husbands, Lenard E. James and Malcolm McCrory; daughter, Patsy R. Gonzales; son, Malcolm G. McCrory Jr.; and all of her siblings. Survived by two sons, Jerry Lynn McCrory and Ronald Dean McCrory; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
