Albert Dixon

Albert Joseph Dixon, passed away surrounded by his family at his residence in Prairieville, LA at 8:40 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016. He was 86 years old, born on September 21, 1929, in Galvez, LA. He retired after 32 years with Uniroyal Chemical. A faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and also, a member of the Masonic Lodge 402. Albert loved to play golf, fish, and watch L.S.U. sports. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA, on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Masonic service at 6:00 p.m. Visiting on Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. Leon Carpenter. Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Delories Otts Dixon; daughter, Susan Dixon; four sons, Randy Dixon, Dale Dixon and wife, Lydia, Ken Dixon, and Ellis B. White; five grandchildren, Sheri Dixon Schully and husband, Kevin, Danielle Dixon Jenkins and husband, Jeffery, Joshua Dixon and wife, Brittany, Chase White, and Katie White; and six great grandchildren, Noah Jenkins, Madeleine Schully, Corinne Schully, Paisley Dixon, Dorothy Jenkins, and Emma Jenkins. Preceded in death by his first wife, Nina Broussard Dixon; and his parents, Lester L. and Una B. Dixon. Honorary pallbearers, Louis May, Ira Decoteau, and Lynn Dixon. The family wants to thank St. Joseph Hospice, Dion Dykes, Erin Landry, and Dr. Melissa Love for the care given to Mr. Albert at this difficult time.
