Akilah Christine Jackson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear daughter, Akilah Christine Jackson (Kiki) on September 20, 2026, at the age of 47. Born on September 3, 1979, Kiki was such a happy person and loved to smile and sing (The Sun Will Come Up Tomorrow). Kiki was a very active child who played softball, basketball, and marching band all through high school in Maryland. Kiki attended college in Baltimore and earned her degree, she worked as a software engineer for over 20 years. Kiki gained a wider perspective of the world which included riding a motorcycle, which was the freedom she enjoyed. After her accident she regenerated that energy into a candle making online business. Kiki did not let her disabilities stop her from traveling and creating candle scents/potpourri assortments/ bath salts and finally pottery. Kiki was a free spirit, loved meeting people and traveling. All while caring for her cats. Kiki's cats traveled in a car with her from Baltimore cross country to her final home in Las Vegas. 

Kiki is survived by Varel (father), Donna (mother), and Levar (brother), Uncle Johnny, Uncle Kenny, Aunt Carla, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Kim, Great Aunt Rosalie Turner and many cousins scattered throughout the United States. Kiki is preceded in death by Rosalie Brown (grandmother), Uncle Philip, Uncle Larry, cousins Duke, Philip Jr, and CJ.

A funeral service will be held at Ascension Funeral Home with repast following. Time and date will be updated.
