A resident of Prairieville, she died on Friday, February 19, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. She was 88. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales, Monday, February 22, 2010 from 6pm until 10pm. Visitation on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 beginning at 10am. Religious services will be conducted by Pastor Clint Johnson at 12noon. Interment will follow in Hope Haven Cemetery, Hwy 30 in Gonzales. She is survived by four daughters and son-in-law; Tammy and Tommy Lee, Darlene LeFleur, Beverly Hunter and Betty Basham, two sons and daughters-in-law; Floyd A. and Lori Vercher and Karl R. and Norma Hunter, Jr. one sister, Mathilda “Betty” Anquiano and husband Ferdie of El Dorado Hills, CA; seventeen grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and fifteen great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl R. Hunter, Sr., parents, Jessie Ben and Ella Louise Tobin, two sons, Carrol Vercher and Norman Hunter, a daughter-in-law, Marie Vercher, son-in-law, Steve LaFleur, three grandchildren, one great grandchild and one great great-grandchild.
