Homer left home at 16 to attend Texas A&M University and graduated in 1951. He met the love of his life, Loraine Dora Stone, to whom he was faithfully and lovingly devoted for 57 years. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word and served as a role model to everyone in his life. He was honorable and gracious in his work and family life. Homer was a fun and dedicated father, and his sense of humor certainly helped him survive in a household of four women. Throughout his life he remained an expert craftsman. “Slow” was his response when asked how he was doing; though his firm handshake confirmed his strength of will. He bestowed a legacy of devotion and kindness that will live on in the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren he left behind. His children; Barbara and Curtis Boney, Mary Grant and Lillian Broussard, his grandchildren; Kathleen and Duane Blank, Annie and Chris Cavanaugh, Andrew Boney, Ben Labbe, Casey Boney, Mallory Domingue, Daniel Broussard and Grant Broussard and his great grandchildren; Koen Blank, Aidan Labbe and Stephen Cavanaugh. Homer was 80 years old and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
